Will Wales Win? Coach Gatland Says Yes!

Warren-Gatland-001After a run of 22 consecutive defeats at the hands of the big three Southern Hemisphere powerhouses of New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa, Wales’s win over the Springboks in the last of this year’s autumn test series, was a stirring performance. They were deserved winners, beating the South African side by 12-6 in what was a typically hard-fought clash.

The pools have been announced for the IRB Sevens tournament being played in Tokyo on 22-23 March. New Zealand should cruise through Pool A against Portugal, Wales and Canada. Pool B comprises Japan, Kenya, Argentina and South Africa, who should be favourites to go through. Meanwhile, Pool C looks to be a more difficult one to predict; with USA, Fiji, Samoa and France playing, the games will be hotly contested. Scotland and Spain are pitched against England and Australia in Pool D. The outcome of this pool place Australia top.
